FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

(Lockport, NY) Screen Attractions has made history as the first producer to provide drive-in trailers in Digital Cinema (DC) format.

The world's first Digital Cinema demonstration in a drive-in theatre was held Wednesday (5/17) at the Transit Drive-In, Lockport, NY, and featured digitally-originated program material from Screen Attractions.

Theatre owner and screening coordinator, Rick Cohen, graciously invited the company to be a part of the program lineup several weeks prior to the event.

With offices in Peoria, IL and a studio near New York City, Screen Attractions provided segments from its popular Showbiz Clock and various other institutionals, psa's, and concession snipes -- directly from archived digital masters.

The program was delivered via the Internet.

There was no film at any point in Screen Attractions' Digital Cinema mastering process, which provided pristine images to the venue's 100 ft.-wide screen. Sound was sourced from a wide-range Lt / Rt digital soundtrack master.

Included in the program was a bit of custom animation, produced specifically for the show, which included a false "server error" "projection failure" that sent exhibitors reeling -- and then roaring with laughter and applause -- upon discovering it was all in jest.

Screen Attractions also took the opportunity to unveil a new extended name and logo at the screening, in a powerful trailer produced and directed by Tim Reed.

Executive Producer Justin West represented the company at the event.

Exhibitors at the gathering report the Screen Attractions material was clear and bright on the screen, with vivid, saturated color. Many said the presentation was the highlight of the evening.

The Screen Attractions library of fine 35mm trailers will continue to be available as the company innovates into the Digital Cinema age. Prints are in stock now and ready for delivery.
